Sofia and João, the bride and groom, share a deep passion for food, authenticity, the joy of life, and fashion. JOURNAL
Sofia & João's Spectacular Wedding in Évora and Lisbon, Portugal
The celebration began with a grand welcome in one of their favorite regions in Portugal - Alentejo. The setting was reminiscent of a lively festival, where friends and family came together to revel in the joy of Sofia and João's love. Live performances, specially curated to honor the couple and the local traditions, set the stage for a memorable evening.
Food played a central role in this celebration. Sofia and João's love for good food shone through, with mouthwatering delights at every turn. The spread included a Charcuterie and Cheese station, a Santini ice cream truck (their absolute favorite!), and an array of dishes that made every foodie's heart skip a beat. The menu featured Paella, Truffle Pasta with Grana Padano, Bacalhau à Brás, Cotton Candy and Popcorn trucks, Love Apple, Churros with Doce de Leche, and a sweet surprise as the evening came to a close - Bolas de Berlim for the perfect exit snack.
And let's not forget their impeccable fashion choices for this day. Sofia made a statement with a fun and eye-catching magenta bespoke tulle gown by Millia London, complemented by her pink Ganni shoes. João, on the other hand, looked charming in a unique striped linen blazer.
The wedding day itself was a testament to the couple's sophisticated taste. Palácio de Queluz, with its timeless beauty and architectural charm, provided the perfect backdrop for their nuptials.
The couple's passion for fashion was evident in their attire for this special day. Sofia donned a unique bridal gown patterned with Lilly of the Valley, the bouquet's flower, by Monique Lhuillier. Her bold laced Christian Dior shoes and the white Valentino style dramatic shoulder detail for the reception were nothing short of stunning. As if that weren't enough, she closed the evening in a show-stopping lace Oscar de la Renta black gown for the afterparty. Each outfit was a work of art, and it was impossible to pick a favorite. The accessories were equally carefully selected to represent the bride's identity and personal style.
João, equally stylish, chose the classic and timeless Corneliani tuxedo and Santoni shiny shoes, adding the perfect finishing touch with a velvet bow tie.
Sofia and João, having planned numerous events over the years, knew exactly what they wanted. They opted for a Family style dinner, which felt both fun and cozy. This choice allowed them to showcase a variety of Portuguese culinary delights that they hold dear to their hearts. The menu featured Octopus salad, Ajillo Shrimps, Peixinhos da Horta, Pica-pau, Monkfish rice, and, of course, a show-stopping Chocolate fondue, the bride's personal favorite, accompanied by the most exquisite selection of fruits.
To set the perfect mood, an incredible swing band played some of the couple's favorite Brazilian Bossa-Nova classics (the groom hails from Brazil). The celebration continued with an incredible band and DJ who ensured that no one would leave the dance floor until the clock struck 2:00 a.m.
Sofia and João's wedding was a celebration of love, not only between them but also for the finer things in life - delicious food, timeless elegance, the joy of togetherness, and a profound love for fashion. It was an event that transcended expectations, a memory that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to be part of it. In the end, it was more than just a wedding; it was a culinary and sartorial extravaganza, a festival of love and laughter, and a beautiful testament to the couple's shared passion for the extraordinary.
